European Starling
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with agricultural
lands, and with wetlands and wet shrubland or freshwater marsh also
present. Where agricultural lands is absent, it is most likely to occur
where part of the hexagon is privately owned and there is less than
30% true fir - mountain hemlock montane forest. The logistic
regression analysis showed positive or negative association with
elevation (hex. avg.), May maximum temperature (hex. avg.), June
precipitation (hex. max.), July maximum temperature (hex. min.), the
extent of public land, and-to a lesser degree-number of land cover
types and towns and cities.
